We wanted a place to think — and we couldn't find one. So we made it. Murmur is small, private, and made for people who write for themselves.
Our story
Quiet tools matter.
The apps we already love are loud. Notifications, streaks to keep, hearts to win, feeds to feed. We built Murmur for the part of you that doesn't want to be measured. A few minutes, alone, with whatever you are thinking about. That is the whole product.
It began as a notebook we shared between three friends. It became a product when we realized other people wanted the same page. We are a small team, working slowly, in public.
Three quiet principles.

Your words are yours. We don't read them, train on them, or sell them. Encryption is the floor, not the ceiling.
"Open when it's useful."
Plain-text export, readable formats, no lock-in. You can leave with everything you brought in, any time.
